Every now and then we need to retreat, to go within and spend time on reflection and contemplation. This is essential to our make-up and is common throughout nature - witness the cycles of the seasons. This need is greater than ever these days because we all have so much to do and have so little time for ourselves.
In a sense we go on retreat each time we meditate.
Once each year, Syandra Health Centre offers a unique opportunity to spend a weekend on retreat.
These are very special occasions that enable you to relax totally and release years of accumulated stress.
You will also find you develop depth and power in your meditation through the concentrated and diverse methods and practices available.
One aspect of retreat is that we go to a different place and get away from the daily round of pressures. The impact of our surroundings on our psyche is enormous and so to approach our lives anew we need to get away for a while.
For this reason the weekends are spent in beautiful surroundings with the opportunity to commune with nature.
There is a range of meditations throughout the weekend and each participant is invited to participate as much or as little as suits their needs.
The dawn meditation is a beautiful way to greet the day for some, while others will prefer their sleep!!
The weekend includes periods of silent and witness meditation, walking meditations in the gardens or along the sea shore, as well as chanting and guided pathworkings that lead you through magical inner worlds.
For physical balance there are yoga sessions on both mornings.
